What is Bontify?

We create meaningful bonding experiences between grandparents and grandchildren

Bontify values strong relationships between generations, yet oftentimes, it may be challenging finding engaging activities and mutual interests that grandparents and grandchildren can enjoy together.

In a world where social isolation has become a global challenge and technology could be levereged to help turn isolation into inclusion, meaningful connections across generations have become all the more crucial.

Bontify brings generations closer by incorporating a project-based approach where grandparents and grandchildren find mutual interests, plan these experiences together and bring them to life.

The Program

Our program is designed around a simple concept – relationships become stronger through joint experiences, especially when both sides are actively involved in the activities.

The program creates awareness and provide tools for the joint activity.

Each grandchild will pair with a grandparent, they will learn about each other, plan together their activities, experience it and reflect on the process.

Bontify program includes a workshop aimed for children ages 10-16 through schools and organizations.

The workshop consists of three online or in-person sessions, combined with virtual activities for the grandchildren and their grandparents, in between sessions.

Bontify facilitators lead the workshop in collaboration with the school/organization staff.

All material is developed and delivered by the Bontify team.

Our Story

Michal & Smadar, two women living on opposite sides of the world,
experienced the importance of fostering relationship between their kids and
their parents.

When Michal’s family moved closer to her parents for a few months, it became
clear to her that her parents could be a valuable asset in her homeschooling
endeavor. Her father, a retired banker, taught her daughter Economics while
her mother was playing brain games with her son. The experience was
amazing for both sides, who felt much more connected while sharing their
personal and professional skills.

When Smadar’s family moved to the United States, away from her parents, her
kids’ connection to their grandparents was through calls and regular visits.
Smadar felt something was missing in keeping the connection more lively.

She understood that knowing
more about each other’s life, hobbies and interests, is the basis for engagement.

Smadar wanted to enable a platform to enrich the intergenerational
connections between grandparents & grandchildren.

Michal wanted to replicate her experience for other families, and Smadar was
thinking about a platform to enrich the intergenerational connection. When
the two met, their visions aligned and Bontify was born.
